Blog for 2/4/2009

How can you use technology to support your teaching strategies and your students' learning?

1)text to speech pairing them with pictures (digital or otherwise) with Boardmaker.

2)Trying the sketchup designs to teach new concepts

3)Doing lesson plans on line to help incorporate more Universal Design of Learning

4)Try some interactive story boards on the touch screen at school.

5) I am looking at the ATTO website and see that I already use a lot of adaptations without thinking of them as assistive technology.  With new insight I will be able to adapt even more and write them more consistently on IEP's.

  1. I suspect you will just take this class to a higher level. I will have to think of additional strategies for this "gifted kid."

  2. Can I do my UDL on a specific monthly theme in the classroom? (for example ocean animals) and talk about how to use low tech, high tech, songs, and activities to activate their learning. Just want to make sure that I am on the right page with UDL. It has inspired me to start with one theme and slowly get each theme with more technolgy infused into each theme.

Thanks for all the websites! I am already looking at how to get things going in my class and sharing these sites with other teachers!
